Take sailing further
There are a number of members who use their dinghies for social sailing at the club and cruising and recreational sailing further afield. The cruising fleet at WRSC will have an occasional organised expedition, usually to the Lake District. Some people may camp on their boat, most prefer a tent or a campervan and some stay in local B&Bs and hotels. Most of the WRSC members who have a cruising dinghy are members of the Dinghy Cruising Association. Sailing around the UK is not limited to just Tideways.
Cruising further afield introduces more inexperienced sailors to a diverse range of sailing such as on rivers, estuaries and off-shore once members feel sufficiently confident.
Tideways
Members at WRSC are part of a group called Tideway Owners Association (TOA) , this group is limited to Tideway dinghy owners. The organisation arranges meetings for people to attend throughout the year across the UK and enables people to sail together and help each other with launching and recovery.
WRSC Weather Station
It is always important to check the weather when you're planing
a sailing trip. West Riding Sailing Club's weather station is a vital tool for all members. The weather station provides up-to-date weather information for Wintersett Reservoir, helping to ensure on-water safety, enhancing overall sailing experience and enabling members to plan their sailing activities around the weather whilst at the club.
