2000 Class Coaching Day & Social

We are planning another "Double Handers" training day on the Saturday 7th September '24. 

This is open to any club members and new starters. Our aim is to get as many members sailing Class 2000s as is possible on the day. 

If you don't own a Class 2000 you are still welcome to take part. We can help you partner up as crew, so let us know if we'd like to take part in the session on the 7th of September via the RSVP from. However, we would encourage you to ask around at the club and try and partner up with someone before the event.  

What will be happening on the day:

10.30 am - Meet at on the Lawn in your sailing kit and ready to sail, with your boat ready to be rigged. The Thompson Brothers (Oliver and Elliot) and Alistair will then guide you through rigging and set up.

Hopefully we can hit the water before midday for an hour where we will practice sailing a windward leeward course.

13.00 pm We will take a quick break, debrief the first session with the aim to be back on the water for 14.00 pm , where we will do more of the same until 16.00 pm.

Food on the day

If there is sufficient interest and the weather is good we will be lighting the BBQ. The club can organise some BBQ food for a small fee, or you can bring your own. Please RSVP so we can arrange any additonal food.  

Camping

Finally, it's only September so bring your tent, caravan, camper or bivouac and stop the night, grab yourself of a drink in the bar and then join in the racing on Sunday.
