West Riding Sailing Club is easy to find and access. The club is only a 30 minute drive from Leeds.
All of the club's road access is great for boat trailers. The club has a large lawn area for boat set up and an easy launch area. If you are travelling to the club for an Open event guests are welcome to camp overnight. The club has hot showers, breakfast facilities and 24 hour access to toilets (for visiting guests only). Making WRSC a great weekend break away.
Public transport. West Riding Sailing Club's nearest train station is Fitzwilliam Railway Station. The following Buses, 195, 195A & 196, all go to Anglers Country Park which is situated directly opposite the club.
How to get to the club by road:
From the M1 (North or South). Exit the M1 at Junction (Wakefield/Durkar). Follow the A636 towards Wakefield. At the roundabout take the A638 towards Doncaster, continue for approximately 3 miles, passing through Crofton. In Ryhill, turn left onto Cold Hiendley Lane, following signs for Wintersett. Follow this road for about 1 mile, then turn right at the sign for Anglers Country park. Continue down this small road and the club is situated at the bottom on the left-hand side.
From the A1(M) (North or South). Exit the A1(M) at Junction 38 onto the A638 towards Wakefield. Follow the A638 for approximately 6 miles, passing through Ackworth and Hemsworth. After Fitzwilliam, turn right at Ryhill onto Cold Hiendley Lane towards Wintersett. Follow this road for about 1 mile, then turn right at the sign for Anglers Country park onto Haw Park Lane. Continue down this small road and the club is situated at the bottom on the left-hand side.
Reaching the club from Doncaster. Leave Doncaster on the A638 heading towards Wakefield. Merge onto the A1(M) North towards Leeds/Wakefield. Exit at Junction 38 and take the A638 towards Wakefield. Turn left onto B6428 (Wrangbrook Lane) and continue through Havercroft and Ryhill. Turn left onto Haw Park Lane, which leads directly to West Riding Sailing Club which is opposite Anglers Country Park.
Reaching the club from Liverpool and Manchester. Head east on the M62 motorway towards Leeds. At Junction 29, take the M1 southbound towards Wakefield. Exit at Junction 39, then follow the A636 towards Wakefield. Turn right onto Asdale Road (A6186), continue onto Chevet Lane, and then turn left onto Haw Park Lane, which leads directly to the club.
Alternatively, you could come to the club via the A628. And, then follow the A636 towards Wakefield.
