Sail and race at WRSC
At WRSC you can race all-year round. A full programme of racing is held throughout the year, including frostbite series, junior and ladies events, and a Wednesday evening series in the summer. A major event of the year is the Spring Bank Regatta, a 3-day open meeting running since 1987, enjoying a friendly atmosphere augmented by lively social evenings. The Spring Bank Regatta is most successful club event in recent years attracted 92 entries and included a professional firework display. WRSC also supports events such as Abersoch Dinghy week and the Lord Birkett Trophy on Ullswater.
WRSC holds regular Sunday racing throughout the entire year. Racing starts on-water at 11am with boat set up from 10am. WRSC normally holds three races on a Sunday with a break for lunch. Racing normally finishes around 3/4pm. WRSC's Sunday racing is ideal for local members and members traveling from further afield.

WRSC hosts a variety of trophy competitions throughout the year, such as the Fire Trophy, Top Dog Award, Handicap Plaque, each awarding distinctive trophies to the victors.

During the summer months WRSC's runs Wednesday evening racing. Boat set up is from 5pm onwards and racing start on-water at 6pm. Wednesday evening racing allows members to fully enjoy the peak sailing season and the late warm summer nights. In the winter months the club holds Wednesday afternoon racing.

Throughout the year WRSC hosts regular Open meetings where travellers from the region and from around the UK travel to WRSC to compete. These events highlight the club's active engagement in competitive sailing and the club's commitment to youth development and fostering talent across the various classes.

There are competitive racing fleets in single and 2-handed boats.
Travelling Opens
The club hosts several Traveling Opens throughout the year. Club from across the region converge on the club to take part. Members from the club also travel across the region and further afield in the UK to compete at a national level.
WRSC Open meetings are regionally and UK renowned. Travellers come from as far as Scotland and from down south. Open meetings at WRSC are not to be missed events, with the club pulling out all the stops on the water as well as in the kitchen and after racing has concluded.
